If anyone can please help me, I introduced 3 black Axil Chromis at the same time on Friday. I B purchased them from live aquaria and are MAC certified... anyhow, they all immediately were eating and healthy, and this morning the middle sized one was breathing extremely heavy and died over the course of an hour or two, and now the large one is doing the exact same thing! The baby tiny one is happy as could be! I have a Red Sea Reefer 350, everything in my track is thriving! All parameters are in check... I have a tank raised yellow tang, 2 storm clowns, a tank raised spotted mandarin goby, 3 Lyretail anthias, a yellow fin flasher wrasse, royal gamma basslet and a hippo tang. I don’t see any aggression whatsoever in the tank and I’m so so upset right now! I HATE losing fish because it makes me feel like a pile of crap, wish we just left them in the ocean when this happens! Anyhow can anyone please try to give me some advice? Will the one be okay alone if he passes? I know they like being in groups...

May have been stress.

That’s a lot of fish for a 73 gal display? Just my opinion. Tangs need a lot of space, even the smaller ones. Probably has nothing to do with your sick Chromis though. Sorry they aren’t doing well. Its always sad and disappointing when new fish friends don’t make it.

What specifically are your parameters?
Specific Gravity -- 1.025 - 1.026
Temperature -- 78-79
Alkalinity -- 8-10
Ammonia -- 0
Nitrite -- 0
Nitrate -- 5-10
Calcium -- 400-420
Magnesium -- 1350-1500
pH -- 8.1
Phosphate -- 0.05 or lower

The only 2 that require a bigger tank are the two tangs, they both seem to be extremely happy... I do fully intend on rehoming the hippo when she outgrows the tank to a very close friend. Almost all of the fish are on the smaller side except the male Lyretail. I knew the chromis were a bad idea but I let the live aquaria people convince me otherwise. I ordered a cleanup crew and added them to get free shipping

I remember ordering Chromis forever ago and they did not handle shipping well. Same with pj cardinals. last time I ordered pjs I ordered 4 hoping to have 3, one was doa and another dead the next morning. Bought 2 more from local fish store and of course, now I have 4. Some fish just seem to get more stressed by the...jet lag?...Others are like “whatever just let me out of this bag”. so sorry again for your loss, hopefully the 2 left make it ok.
