Please help ICH OR SOMETHING 3 tanks in danger

One more question with a hospital style tank and little biological media how do you maintain the copper level with water changes? I know you should do a water changes often and a hospital tank or I have heard that and or if you have any pneumonia, you should do a water change, so how do you maintain that copper level, should I take a bag of the media display tank and just put it in the 20 gallon to help anything that would happen

You can safely add media from the display tank to the qt - any disease on there would be treated in the quarantine anyway. Just be sure to avoid calcium based rocks and sand, as they absorb copper, making dosing tricky.
To maintain copper levels during water changes, just dose the new water to be at the same concentration.

OK, well it’ll still be beneficial just being thrown in the tank not in the filter like I said I don’t have any room in the back of the filter.

It’s best being put in the filter, or anywhere exposed to higher flow, for maximum efficiency.
It still will work anywhere though.

Adding to this make sure you have a good copper test like Hanna. Technically any time copper gets below 2.0 the 30 days could need to be restarted. 2.25 is the target because it's in-between not enough (<2.0) and too much (>2.5).

Hey my copper is fluctuating and I’m not sure why I’m running a simple hang on the back of coral life filter the filter pads had carbon in them, but I cut it and rinsed it all out and tried to get everything I could out. There may be one tiny black piece in it, but I don’t have any established other media to fit the hang on the back or simple filter pads not sure if they sell them at Petco or not I also have that matrix and then a couple pieces of PVC and I have a plastic frag rack to make the fish feel more at home since that was in the 14 gallon tank. Not sure if the plastic could be doing it other than that, I just heater and air but but Monday night when I checked, it was one .91 and I added one to 2 mL of copper power when I checked again yesterday it was 1.81 so I added another milliliter to and then when I checked an hour later, it was 2.49 so to get it to five I added maybe a half mL to 1 mL and let it go my dad just checked it and it was 2.21

If it is recommended to take that Coraline filter pad out completely, can you link or recommend a filter pad without any carbon in it and my main concern is any pneumonia spikes cause I just have the little thing of matrix in there unless I will just have to monitor even more closely and do frequent more water changes But looking for why it could be fluctuating

I only run filter floss and bio rings in my qt tanks. Carbon can absorb copper and mess with your copper levels.
Btw, 2.21 is a good concentration to have it at.
