There was a post from years ago regarding a "mystery disease" on a Powder blue tang. After scouring the internet trying to figure out what this is...I stumbled across this photo. This is exactly what I have on my blue. There was no real useful info in this thread as to what it is and how to treat. Can anyone help me? This is the photo from the thread.(in the pvc tube) top photo is my powder blue. Shes been like this for over a week now. Doesnt look like it's getting any better. I dont know what to do for her.

Here's a thread that may help. Look at the first pictures. In particular, look at the fish on "your" left in the bucket. Focus on the area near the tail. You'll see growths that are very similar to the one you posted. Humblefish suggest, based on his scrapes he examined that it is a viral/bacterial infection of the gram positive variety. A wide spectrum antibiotic that treats both gram positive and gram negative bacterial infections should work. Erythromycin (aka Maracyn, not Maracyn 2 but just Maracyn) specifically, treats gram positive infections.
