Please help ID these creatures living in my Chaeto.

Can you tell me who these creatures are and what their function is in a tank? It looks like they have a shell, but not sure.

A best picture of them. They look like clams?? The attached to the rocks on their side. Are they good to keep? They look ok. The big one has a tongue like thing and it is touching the sand with it.
