It's a digi. I took this picture just now and the lights have been ramping down for a while. During the day when the lights are on the polyp extension is pretty decent.Looks like a dead spot starting to grow algae? That coral doesn’t look happy overall. It’s a digi, right? If it were happy, it would have a lot more Polyp extension.
I placed the digi on the sand just to get a good picture of it. It's normally up on top with par about 180-220 and lots of flow.Looks like lack of par, low water flow and nutrients. Elevate it off sandbed to at least mid tank and see if it picks up. You’ll have more par and water flow in this tank location.

Most likely your tank is too clean in that case as he said, lacking sufficient no3 and/or po4.I placed the digi on the sand just to get a good picture of it. It's normally up on top with par about 180-220 and lots of flow.
I took it out and blasted with a turkey baster and all of the black things came off. I am assuming it's algae then? If it's algae, does that mean the digi is dying? thanks
It looks like algae to me when it came off.Black things? Do they move? There are such things as black bugs on Montipora as well.
Actually my nitrate is about 20-25ppm and Phosphate about 0.08-0.12Most likely your tank is too clean in that case as he said, lacking sufficient no3 and/or po4.
