My blue tang named Blue has a white line on his right eye. I would really appreciate help with ID and treatment. His is swimming and eating fine. Just noticed it yesterday. If I had to guess I would say flakes but definitely just a guess. It was hard to get a good picture if you pinch in on the picture you can see it.

Hard to see. How long have you had him and any other new additions that could bring flukes into the tank?

Any rapid breathing, scratching or shimmying?

I did add a hawk fish last night. But he was being treated with copper. I have had the tang for 4 years and I just noticed his eye last night. He is acting fine except for chasing the new hawk fish around the tank. No rubbing no scratching .

If you just added the hawk last night and the blue is older, I may think it is not flukes. I do not think it would have enough time to get from the hawk to the blue and hatch eggs and then present itself in the eye.

Just asking, you sure the line was not a reflection, and are you still seeing it?

Yes definitely not a reflection. I will try and get a video or a better picture
Based on the fish’s history, I don’t think this is flukes. More likely, it scraped its eye chasing the hawk fish. I would just watch it for the time being.
