I searched Google for a couple of hours with no luck, this just appeared over night. Do I keep it in the tank or remove it?

Looks like the trap door to a turbo snail. It should be a hard disk when you pick it up. Do you have any snails?

I just took it out and here are some better pictures. It's flat like a thin film and hard. I think DSFReef is right about the trap door from a turbo snail.

yes, I lost count, maybe 10 or so snails

i got one too and after they say it's from a turbo snail, it makes sense!

Yep trap door to a snail. Found a few of these in my tank.
