Please help ID

I placed a piece of mussel inside the trap and overnight this is what happened to the piece of mussell. Which critter would have done this? The reason I placed a trap was a few days before my tiny clam got the same bubble like thing covered it and it died. It was like something from alien movie.

Good or bad bacteria? Can it kill healthy corals?

It's attacking dead things. So very beneficial bacteria. The clam was probably dead for awhile when you saw the bacteria mass.

Now if it was on a living healthy coral, I would worry.
