I recently purchased a RBTA from a fellow reefer, but it was stuck pretty good in the rock and after about an hour the reefer just offered me the entire rock. I really didnt want to chance any hitchhikers so after i got it home i also tried for another hour to get him lose, but he was wedged good in a crevice and i didnt want to damage him or stress him further so i just put in the whole rock in the tank. The next day i noticed a couple of these guys:

He is about quarter sized. My first thought was aiptasia, but he didnt look like any pic i could find of them online. He is darker, and more fat rather than wavy. Anyhow the first step to getting rid of him is identification so what do yall think? Thanks for the help guys and gals.

This guy is a persistent bugger, i tried the ice, then when i first placed the rock in my tank i blasted him with the power head for another good hour. He was hanging on by a thread of his foot the whole time and i started to feel bad for him and didnt want to hurt him. Here is a pic of the little guy.

Got him for $30 reefer was tearing down his tank.

aiptasia, kill that mother. I inject the ones I get in my take with Vinegar and bicarbonate paste. Do not let it reproduce or you'll regret it. Got to keep them under contorl

So just take the rock out and smother him in superglue gel?
Get a small tube of it, I get mine from the dollar store. Reach down in there and fill the hole. :-) its more or less a 1 time use

So far i've covered 4 of em with superglue and it seems to have worked, hopefully thats, that. Ill keep a close eye on the rock in the next couple weeks. Now to hijack my own thread. While i was gluing then i found this strange creature that also looks like an anemone? sorry for the bad angle, ill try to rotate the rock if yall cant tell what it is

Try to rotate the rock to help ID.
IMO look like small BTA.

Dang BTA can be that small? He is literally about 1/4 inch. Here he is, i got him straight on, but he had closed up so not sure if it helps, ill take another when he comes out. Does this help at all?

I spot a 3rd one to the upper right as well even smaller, I don't know if you noticed that as well.
Holy crap you are right! That one is super tiny, like maybe 3 mm or so. Glad i didnt throw out this rock.
Best pic i could get

Sorry but it's not a baby bta. It is a hitchhiker ball anemone. They don't have as strong of a sting of the aiptasia and not much of a threat to your corals. They can randomly release from the rock and land somewhere else. Eating small bits of food that happen to float by.
