Please help identify what kind of Butterfly fish

Hi,

Can someone please tell me what kind of Butterfly fish this is. He is currently in my refugium. Is he considered reef safe with caution or no way?
I got him yesterday from someone who just always kept him in his refugium and said it has always been there as he didn't want to see if it messes with his corals.

RBTA safe and Zoa hit and miss. It may or may not go after some = Risk

Every fish is different. The same type of fish can be model citizens or a terror. As @vetteguy53081 said great aptasia eaters.

Mine is reef safe with some corals, it eats the heck out of torches and goni though. Fine with mushrooms, leathers. Hit and miss with zoas. I couldnr get him out in time to save my torches so he is still in my tank and no torches.

Oh good to know. I think I may take a chance and put him with the main population and hope that it goes well. Wish me luck!
