Came in my clean batch of chaeto does anyone have a clue . Looks like something that's not going in sump. Thanks

Maybe a photo of it in a container by itself would help. Hard to see for me, not that i am an expert at all.

This is a complete guess since I can't see the whole thing, but it looks like the base of an aiptasia anemone. If you can isolate it for a better picture that would be helpful.

Good too know the pic is not that great I am not home to further inspect if its aptasia do you think after removing it and inspecting the remaining algee that it would be good to introduce to the sump. Or is it the kinda thing that can spread.

I would wait for an ID. It could be something cool to display, or aiptasia which can multiply quickly and cause you lots of work. If you can isolate it and take a photo, thats what i would do. Aiptasia are a pain.

If aptasia, it will likely spread. If in doubt" take it out" and eliminate whatever it is to reduce risk of more.

Coral dips don't kill aiptasia

Where did you purchase the macro? Maybe ask for a refund if they advertised it as pest free

Still tough photos but from a couple would be a ball anemone which is harmless.

Definitely not a ball anemone.
Can you remove the actual critter in question and put it in a container by itself? Then send photos of that.

I'm leaning toward an aiptasia or similar anemone, or maybe some sort of feather duster or cucumber.

Looks to me like spaghetti worm or peanut worm? If so… very nice.
