Please help identify

Dipped corals that i bought today and this little guy came off. Not sure what kind of starfish because it had 6 legs. I thought it was brittle/serpent. Please help thanks

Maybe a micro brittle, they are about the size of a quarter legs and all

Thank you, i just wasnt sure because it had 6 legs. Its going in tank anyway. Ill just keep eye in corals

Some people have reported them attacking smaller fish. They are great for cleaning detritus under rocks though.

Never heard of a brittle stars attacking fish.I have ones the size of plates and they have never killed or damaged anything

+1 on brittle. They don't attack but when large can extend their tentacles and startle other occupants

Agree on that one mine have even caught me by suprise when I work in the tank

There are many instances online where people report them attacking smaller fish. However, it's mostly the green ones that do this. Just type in google "brittle star attack fish"
