Any ideas what this could be? I'm pretty sure it came off of a piece of live rock as I had a piece up close to this filter housing

Are they OK to touch by hand il just reach in and grab it out if it is otherwise im seriously lacking in tools as its a really new tank and I'm still picking bits up. I could do the boiling water thing though

They won’t hurt you if that’s the concern- I would try to scrape them off with something while siphoning so they are removed. Be sure to not crush them though; I believe small pieces can regenerate into another polyp.
