You're not giving us much to go on. Need a full list of current parameters, lighting being used and if you're using RODI or not. For a 5 month old tank things shouldn't be that clean.

Mouth being open and hiding like that I would think it's either environmental or possible infection being a distant thought.

Salinity-1.025
pH-8.2
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-0
copper-0
carbonate hardness-10dkh

Lighting used is a corallife seascape 18x24 led, there are no corals in this tank. Only fish living in it are two small picasso clownfish. The other inverts consist of a peppermint shrimp and two turbo snails. I also use distilled water since i do not have a rodi system.

Anenome is now closing up, stringy brown substance on sandbed and rock

There's no nutrients in your water. Nitrate should be at least 5 and you don't have a phosphate measurement listed. Are you using RODI? Also recommend ditching the API master kit for some better tests like salifert or red sea.

Other than changing the test kit, what do you recommend the best course of action is? and phosphate is 0.5mg/l

The light you have is nowhere near adequate for an anemone. It’s barely enough for the lowest light soft corals. Once you get this anemone past this issue, you’ll need to upgrade your lighting if you want it to live longterm.

Do you have a light you recommend? I also have a clear glass top on the tank because i have a cat.

I couldn’t keep an anemone alive until the tank was at least a year old. Waited for the 1.5year mark after 2 failed attempts. Within 8 months though, that 1 RBTA turned to 6. Sometimes, just gotta wait for the tank to mature a little longer.

I had a 20G AIO IM that housed the Nems and Clownfish. 2 Kessil A80s wasn’t really enough; when I upgraded to just 1 A360, it did better.

It looks like you started with dry rock. In which case your tank is too new! The lack of nitrates reflects that. Anemones use nitrates as a food source. Anemones are fussy about Alkatinity. At 10 yours is probably part of the issue, as it likely came from a system with lower alkalinity. Anemones are 90% water so, water parameters are critical. I also agree your light is not enough.

Yeah after doing some reading and listening to you guys im considering bringing the anenome back to the fish store. Ill try again when the tank matures after a year or year and a half and i upgrade my lighting

They may take it. You could ask for store credit... They may give it to you, or maybe 50% store credit. They may not.
