So I would like to get a new skimmer. Right now I'm running a bubble-magus nac3. It is on a 57 gallon tank with a medium heavy bio load. I have a mixed reef and think this skimmer will not cut it in the near future. So my 3 options are another bubble-magus but the 3.5 or a nac7. My third option is a eshopps s-120. I don't want to under skim of course or don't want to over skim as well.

What is your sump water depth where your skimmer sits? I was trying to run a Nac 7 in 8" of water. Was all over the place couldn't adjust it. Didn't like it at all!!! About a month ago changed to a SRO 1000int. Made a little platform for it to sit on running at about 5.75". Awesome is all i can say!!!!

Its running in about 8-8.5 inches but I could alway make a little egg crate platform for it. I'm more concerned about the footprint being too big for my sump. It's a cadlights sump and the size is weird.

Well the skimmer section is 9x7 but I have a spare 20l I was thinking of turning into a sump. Does anyone have any feed back on the eshopps s120?

I know a number of reefers who are using the NAC 7 and are happy with it. There was a problem with the original Atman pump because of a mesh type impeller, but they now offer a pin wheel type and I understand that has solved the problem.

You probably have the same small cad sump I do. I think those are my dimensions. I'm running the NAC3.5+ because of the small size. I don't think it's really cutting it for me. I did start out with the Warner Marine 121 when it first came out.. skimmed really well when it worked, but the impeller/pump can't failing. Jon is great to work with, but I kept having the same problem hence the 3.5+. I do want to see if I can fit something better

The eshopps will definately fit but the sock will be a tight fit. The sump is a great fit with the size of the stand and how I have my reactor set up but the skimmer and sock section stinks. I had the eshopps s150 set up on my 60 I had a few years ago. It worked very well. I'm leaning towards the s120 so I don't need to build another sump. I just would like to hear some first hand feedback.
