Hello everyone,
I have had a diadema urchin for almost a year and a half now. I found out my salinity was 1.023 and got it up to 1.024 divided over 3 days. Around that time, my urchin started dropping a spine every 2 days. I measured all my water statistics and found out my carbonate hardness was 5. Trying to get it up to8 i started dosing 80ml every day, 40 in the morning and 40 in the evening.
2 days ago i found him upside down in the sand. I don't know how it happened or what was going on, but i put him back upright and he slowly walked to a corner.
Now my urchin is dropping around 2 to 5 spikes every day. I have put some broccoli in the tank and he has been sitting on it for 2 days now and i don't think he has eaten it. Usually he really likes it and eats it immediately. I also put some algue in it, which he hasn't found/gone to yet. His reflexes seem to weaken too, when i touch one of his spines he reacts to it, but not as fast as he used to.
It's clear he is stressed and weak, but i can't seem to find out what it is. I don't think he is starving, did i add the salt or carbon too fast, or is it something completely different? how do i found out what is wrong with him?
Any help is appreciated.
