Please help me identify what this is..

Hi all, I bought a Kenya tree from the LFS and noticed this at the bottom of on of the stems/branches. Is this normal or is it harmful please? Apologies for the picture quality I will try and get some better pictures. Many thanks in advance guys n gals.

Hard to tell from pictures.. is it moving? Kenya trees are mostly indestructible so I wouldn’t worry to much.
