Hey guys so I made of couple of frags from a zoa colony and I noticed what’s looks to me like a Xenia Pom Pom or something. Every time I try and reach for it with tweezers to get rid of them they retract. Please help me out identifying them and what I can do about them if anything. Thanks!!

If it’s just on that frag scrape it off in a bowl of tank water make sure you get it all off rinse and return to tank.

Let it open > squirt it with kalk paste or aptaisa x right down the throat. Then scrape it off the best you can. Rinse well and squirt a bit more stuff on the spot. With some luck you wont have night of the living dead.

I would like to 2nd that Aptasia X. In a delicate situation like that, they seem to take the Aptasia X in whereas the kalk past just kind of smothers them. I use kalk past all the time but usually not is such close proximity to corals and zoas. You can lay down a nice gentle layer of kalk and a fish will come by and kick the stuff everywhere, without fail.

Thank you guys for all of the responses. I was able to figure out that they were on small pieces of rock that the zoas were growing on so with a little finesse I was able to remove the rocks and place the zoas on a new frag plug.
