So a few weeks ago I started getting what i thought was a diatom bloom, so i decided to syphon the sand bed and do a water change, thats when the real problems began. Since then my tank has been over run with this brown extremely fast growing organism. I did research and thought maybe cyanobacteria, but from what i read cyano can be syphoned easily and comes off in sheets, well this stuff is nothing similar it is difficult to syphon, and with mechanical removal it dissipates in the water column, this has led me to beleive its perhaps dinoflagellates, but im not entirely certain, the only difference i have noticed is that there are no bubbles that are attached to the organism itself. Regardless i have attached pictures and i would really appreciate any opinions on the matter. If there are those of you that beleive this to be dyno, I currently am close to completing a 125 gallon upgrade, would it be better just to go ahead and break my current system down and downsize until my 125 is up? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Ps my tank is 2 yrs old, and the water since the original water change is super cloudy.

Looks like a carpet algae type. You try a 3 day lights out to kill it off yet?
