Please Help!...My First Hard Coral is Dying

That coral is not bleaching, it is tissue necrosis. Chances of survival are low. I'm not familiar with that light, but 30w is low. I'd probably blame that. Your parameters are ok, nitrate is a bit high but not high enough to kill the coral in my experience.

It's only a 20 gallon tank....I thought that was average

+1 water changes asap nitrate is way too high for hard corals (stylo or poci too) I would guess that phosphates are really high too due to the nitrate result. Too high nutrients can cause browning and also death in sps corals

Ya that light isn’t gonna support sps, but other than that your tank isn’t ready for sps yet.

I run a sps tank and target nitrates of 2-5, phosphate .05-.1 (cant ever read the phosphate kit well). SPS will most of the time respond very poorly to nitrates over 20

Impossible to say without a par meter but even the smaller good led fixtures use quite a bit more power than that.

Yes I can...I'm in college though so budget is tight...I'd probably have to go for a second hand light

Ur right about that, more pointing out that the coral was also browning, rtn is probably due to the 2 weeks in low light plus shading of the lower part of the coral imo

Gotta also remember mounting that adds another 30-$50 but used is always an option
