Please help on why torch not open and id one extra weird stuff next to it.

Hi guys, need help on understanding why my black torch partially close up. I ordered that along with the other torch and a hammer. They were doing happy. And please id that little flower looling thing next to the black torch. It came along with the coral on the skeleton and couldnt get it off. Thanks.

Aquasd sold me those, no complain since it was cheap torch and im newbie. Just the fact im stressing out cuz its not opening and now even falling off some of its tips.

Its hard to tell, but it looks like the skeleton was cracked at one point. Might be why it was cheap.

Also looks like some brown jelly disease, but that could also just be the flesh. Does it look like its melting at all?

Yeah that is some serious skeleton damage there. You may be better off fragging that head and super gluing it to try and salvage the small head left.

Yea this morning i saw whole second head is gone......only skeleton left ......so sad, so what should i do. Can i leave the rest of the head there?

Your gonna probably want to leave it. Do you have a turkey baster? If so you can use it to blow the melted dead head gunk away from the good head. This will improve your chances of saving the torch head. The melted torch head can turn into brown jelly and contaminate the live head so it best to clean it and remove the melted bits if there are any. Anyway good luck with it. Feather duster.

I have a torch that came to me half dead about a tank move crushed the mother colony. Lower than normal flow and it recovered in about a month.

The funny thing is yesterday i saw him falling off some of the tips so i decide turkey baster suck him up and accidently suck up most of his flesh....and this morning all his flesh are gone. So im worry he already brown jelly and the flesh flow into the water and spread it everywhere. So idk what to do now? And im scare water change since i did it yesterday and worry im going to have dino also since nitrate is going down too much. So much stress now....

My torch died. What I found with torches, brown jelly attacks at the base of the torch. Unlike a lot of other corals, When torches are fragged and glued, something about that causes the bottom of the torch to get infected on the underneath. I am talking about the inside of the coral skeleton where the torch hides. I should have taken pictures of what was taking place. I didn't have cipro on hand. There is no way to do a dip in a situation like that. Full treatment for bjd needs to be done.

Id just take it easy and monitor everything. Ive lost thousands of dollars worth of coral. But at the same time I've grown about the same amount. There's a give and take in this hobbie. It can be difficult when just starting out. Just do your due diligence, test water parameters get a good idea of where they should be. And do your best to be prepared. Its not always the best thing to be waiting on a product for three days that you need now.

Chemiclean has been used to treat bjd. I just don't know how they use it.
Hopefully someone with experience will be able to chime in.

To prevent spreading best bet is take the alive part out and discard it, im worrying it spread to my green torch.

I know. But my torch that passed looked like that and I cut into the skeleton. That's when I smelled the jelly.

That thing is probably a feather duster worm. Shell isn't dark enough to be a vermetid.


Edit: a feather duster, on top of a feather duster.

Without cipro or chemiclean, you're going to have to remove injured heads. I can't say if the others aren't already infected either.

So treatment i saw its iodine, so should i get iodine today?
