My Aussie Lord coral has started looking different in the past 2 days. Then I see this white worms like structure which looks like it's growing on the side of it. My Aussie looks disturbed. I have before and after pics of it below when it looked healthy and when it looks disturbed. I am new to the hobby. Perhaps I have missed the coral? It's down low in my tank with medium Flow. Please help me identify this white thing.

Looks normal:

Looks like a Vermetid snail. You can break it off but chances are the snail will retract all the way down so you may have to crush the base to kill it.
I can do that. I had to do the same to my other acan coral but it was aiptasia. Why do acans seem to become infested so easily? Would high flow help keep pests off them?

Flow will def help that but I wouldn’t worry too much about them. I have them in my tank and they are just more of a nuisance when I feed corals since they spit out small strings to capture food. The larger ones I destroy, the smaller ones I just let them be. Seem like no matter how hard you try your going to get them. If they are irritating your corals then just crush them. I have bumblebee snails in my tank that feed on them.

Thanks for your advice! I took out a huge one, crushed it. I'm gonna have to get some bumblebee snails! Do the bumble bee snails "hurt" your corals?
