Went away for one day, when I got back my crab must have knock this Hairy mushroom off the rocks. It was upside down on the substrate and now has not opened well for two days and has what appears top be a grey wormy growth type thing around the center area. Does anyone know whats up with this , thanks

Its expelling its guts. Did you put it back in the same place? How long was it flipped over.

maybe a day or a little more, my NO3 is zero in that tank should it move to a little dirtier one, say 10ppm? I have a few choices
are there other reasons it would puke its guts out?
thanks for the input

regarding placement , just got it two weeks ago , at 1st it was fully open, and its been move a few times, then it fell, its mid tank under a china led blue only ~75%

Something must be wrong with u water, perhaps phosphate (I see u have some algae and u say nitrates are 0). Unless it fell from a great height then a day facing upside down is not enough to damage ur Cora that badly.

Also how much flow does it have on it, if not much then I would increase the flow for a bit as it will encourage recovery and aid tissue repair

theyre really hardy, usually when I pry them off of where I dont want them to be, Ill see that on their foot. As long as I give them something else to attach to and theyre getting a little light, they will be fine :)
of course, thats with good parameters too

I disagree, they may not be fine especially with so much of the stringy stuff being expelled by a coral at once, you need to put it in high flow quickly and hope

I dont think OP needs to freak out about it is all.
its happened to me quite a few times when moving these guys, just relaying my experiences.

Also another thing which maybe for the future is to purchase something like brightwell aquatics restor and just dose it s it will do wonders for ur tank. It repairs any damaged coral, and improves the healthy corals. Happy to help.

I do have an algae issue in this quarantine tank 29g, yet po4 is again, just now, none detectable , Salifert test registers clear @ < 0.03

Nitrates could be a cause of ur algae problem - even if undetectable as algae often uses it up before u can detect it however it is unlikely to be the problem.
