I’m getting g water ready to do a water change. Skimmer is a ting funny too. Only thing added today was food with zoecon and replaced filter sock (rinsed)

Is it safe to do a water change without mixing for 2 hours?

Yes if mixed well.

I don’t see anything but the fish does look “light” in color. Do you quarantine?

Does it hide from light a lot or is that just because you were near with the camera?

Any spots? Breathing heavily?

No spots, other than what was attached to his fin. I think I posted a link to that thread. That’s his hang out. He’s always been skittish when someone walks up to the tank. This was his coloring this morning. My last water change was 2 days ago (20gallons)I did ad Microbe-lift Special Blend (LFS said 1 ml per gallons changed). Turned UV sterilizer back on today, after adding my Red Sea A&B. I can’t think of anything else

Just finished another water change. I Only had 20 gallons ready. Unfortunately, I’m out of carbon. Can’t get any until tomorrow

Sorry, I didn’t answer all your questions. Can’t really tell about the breathing because he hides when I get to the tank. He was quarantined. LFS is a friend and he did it for me.

I did the water change, dimmed the lights and added carbon this morning. He has a bit of his color back now. Also, he’s eating now. I’m wondering if something got into the tank?
I have the RSR 425xl. Taking into consideration the amount of live rock&sand in the tank, I have about 90 gallons total water volume. I only had 20 gallons of RO/DI to do the water change with. Is that enough or should I do another?

I'd do another water-change in a couple of days, and switch out the carbon with fresh at that point. Otherwise, just observe for additional symptoms... It's hard to say at this point. I generally don't trust any QT except my own... with the exception of humblefish, I trust his QT
