we called that beach bum last I was in.
The names and prices have really gotten out of hand. I usually try and find out the species and look it up in a book I have.

Fox also sells RR nauti spiral which looks very similar to slow burn.

Whoa. That doesn’t look like a Slow Burn to me, but it is awesome! Yours has more of a green/yellow center. My understanding is that Slow Burn is more orange center with Violet polyps and pinkish growth. But corals definitely change depending on the tank/lights/parameters, so who knows!

It's quite possible that someone has used Veron's "Coral ID" software to ID your piece and can therefore positively ID it. If not, I wouldn't place much credence in one based strictly on a visual observation. To use Veron's software, a fragment must be clipped off, tissue removed, and a microscopic examination made. A checklist of a couple dozen parameters is then completed. ID's usual take about an hour and is quite tedious. Again, not trying to discount an ID you've been offered.

So, I recently started slowly turning up my lighting and my Slow Burn is slowly looking more and more like this... so weird how different lighting and tanks can completely change a coral’s color.
