Please Help ! water Cloudy/hazy white and have a million tiny bugs????

I noticed some little white tiny bugs on the glass after cleaning tank last week. Now I have waaaaay more and looking through the sides on my 4ft 55 gal the water is really light/white hazy! Is this caused from the bugs and what the heck are they???? Please help thanks.

Hard to tell without any pictures so I would work on that so we can get a positive ID for you but it sounds like copepods to me. They are a good thing. Their population will naturally balance as the tank progresses. The haziness of the water is more likely due to a bacteria bloom - also normal and will eventually clear up on its own. If it really really bothers you, consider a properly sized UV sterilizer. Do you have substrate or BB? Do you have any coral in the tank? How old is the tank?

I will post some pics when i get off work for sure. 2 months old. 5 zoa colanies , frogspawn, 2 nepthea tree, 7 recordia mushroom and 1 monti frag. 2 clowns and cleaner shrimp. Oh and live sand. Regular not deep.

Here are some pics and video, hopefully vid uploads. Notice my sponge on my hob intake is nearly white instead of black! First pic is front veiw and not noticable as much. I also put water in a clear glass and it does not look white at all but I can see bugs in it.

Hi it’s still a little hard to tell but based on the one picture (that looks like some sort of overflow) they do look like pods to me. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. If that’s what it is, their population will naturally balance. And the cloudiness should clear on its own too. It looks like a great tank.

Thank you very much for replying! I bought a uv sterilizer yesterday and although the lights were not on yet when I left this morning, it seemed to look better . Will check it this evening. Thanks so much!

Update tank is clear as ever! Crazy what a uv can do for this. Now deciding on taking out or leaving in lol. Thanks again

If you already have it and it’s not too obtrusive I would run it. They can be beneficial for a lot of different things. Glad the tank cleared up.

I would leave it in and if you have no use for it at the moment just unplug it or put it on a timer to run for few hours each day or while light are on or off doesn't need to run 24hrs a day unless you got a problem.
