I have had this azure damselfish for a week. The past 2 days I noticed this white stuff under one of his eyes. He is eating normally, but I’ve noticed he is breathing a bit rapidly.. I wonder if he has scraped it because he is always swimming through tight rock caves. Is it an infection?? What should I do??? Photos of both eyes to compare. My two clowns are fine. My water quality is fine. Please help, I am already very attached to him, his name is lil Squirt.

It's hard to tell from your pictures, but I suspect infection. I would start antibiotics right away. Check out @Humblefish 's expert advice about treating sick fish. IMO, if the fish is still eating, you have a chance of saving it. Good luck!

Thankyou for the response! I will be going to my lfs tomorrow and hopefully get some type of medication for him.I just needed a little peace of mind for tonight, I’m worried about him :(

Absolutely, the local fish store will sell you something. But the question is, will you need it?

I find it difficult to tell with all the blue in your pictures. Can you turn off your blue lights and post another?

It looks like it can be some sort of injury. Damsels can be very nasty and clowns are territorial.

If either of these fish are newly added to the tank, it may be that they are battling for territory.

How big is your tank?

If this is an injury, an antibiotic may be a good precaution.

My tank is 13 gallons. I have watched them closely and haven’t seen any aggression. I’m guessing it’s a cut from the rocks he swims through. He sleeps ina tiny cave. I’m just wondering if I treat the cut or leave it? Here’s some slightly better pics.

Yeah... that looks like an injury to me, so maybe an antibiotic as a precaution?

13 gallons isn't that big for a clown and a damsel, considering the aggressiveness of one and the territorial nature of the other.

Thanks, yeah I am keeping a close watch. If I see any aggression I will put him in a seperate tank. He seems fine with the clowns for now, they are all very small still.

I feel like it always happens when you're not looking. LOL
