I recently got a new coral a few weeks ago. All has been fine but it seems one tip has gotten dark and seems to stay closed. Everything else seems happy and there is even new growth on this coral. Any ideas or am I just freaking out lol

thanks in advance

Some times when zoas and palys are new they will get almost like a brown film on them and they will stay closed. Im not sure if its bacteria or algae but I have always had success blowing the film off with a turkey baster. They will usually open within a day or 2 if you can keep the film off.

Assure moderate water flow and some Lugol iodine to the water

Thanks. I’m not even really sure if anything is wrong with it... I work to much I guess lol also fairly new to this

So I think it was my wife over watching the tank and freaking me out because while everything is closed it looks fine and healthy to me.

I do have a second question.... can my emerald be eating my feather dusters? This makes her very angry lol

I love this stuff but I also seem to have a talent for killing it. This go seems to be going decent though .
