Hi all,

Our new tank is coming along well. Our two Clownfish are settling in well and our CUC (2 ninja snail, 2 turbo snail and 10 hermit crabs) are off to the races. There is some GSP starting to poke through the rock so that’s exciting.

However I am noticing new hair algae growth. While I know this is to be expected, I’m wondering if I’m running my lights too much. I have been using a preprogrammed schedule through the Möbius app.

Could someone recommend what I should be aiming for with 3 XR15 G6’s (only 2 shown in pic)?

Regards

I run the AB+ schedule on mine, but mine is full of SPS.
Here's some pics under that lighting schedule. First pic has orange filter on the lens. The other three are without filter.

It’s a new system, doesn’t need light, fish don’t care.
And that’s a lot of light over your system.
So as least as possible until your parameters are locked in an you have some photosynthetic stuff to use higher levels.
Most softies do well in 50-100 par, SPS 150-175 par, the Acrs 200-250 par.

Thank you, that is the information I was looking for. There is some GSP coming through on the rock, but not enough to warrant these 3 lights blasting for anymore than a few hours lol
