Please help with lighting

Hello

I am relatively new to the hobby and have a JBJ 28 gallon nano intermediate (LED model). I am starting to add corals to my tank and wish to get advice on lighting.

QUESTION:

1) should I use the existing lighting or remove the lid and use other LED lighting?
2) If I should remove the lighting, what suggestions are there?
a) I want something I can mount, and not hang as I have high ceilings above the tank.
b) If I am going to replace, I want something that is not SUPER expensive, but will spend at least 3 - 4 hundred if it is something that is
good and will transfer over to a larger tank when I replace my existing tank.

First, you should figure out what kind of corals you want to have in your tank. Certain corals must have strong lighting and some don't need much at all. Also remember that since you have a nano, you're lighting is a lot closer to the corals in your tank than most other tanks and you probably won't need anything crazy. I have a 12 gallon and I'm running good ole T5's and everything is doing swell.

So, do some searching and what not. Find what appeals to you and then figure out what their lighting requirements are.

I use a Par38 LED bulb above my 12G cube; lid was removed. I use a hanging cord that I got from Ikea but I do know there is a gooseneck clamp for these types of bulbs too. I've seen a full spectrum bulbs for about $120 and it would allow you to grow just about any coral.
