Bought him on Friday straight to quaratine he went. Yesterday was fine earlier abs eating. A few hours later it looked like his head was missing flesh put copper in the tank last night. Today he’s alive but as you can see from the pics? I’ve never seen this before. About to do a fresh water dip

From above in the sip you can see his scales are poking out. I don’t know what to do. All I have is copper safe. Ich x. PraZipro I’m in Canada

Although that looks like an injury, given that it is a newly acquired wrasse, it is probably Uronema. The extent of the affected area and its location make it unlikely to survive, even with treatment....sorry!
I’m working on my phone, so please excuse the brevity....

I don’t know much about uronema I will have to look it up. Poor fishy

He was in my coral qt tank does that mean these corals can never go in my display tank. I read uronema doesn’t really die? Oh man my luck continues

is there corals in there currently?...clean out wash every thing w bleach, let dry,do it again to be safe

So my coral frag tank is screwed now and I have to kill all my corals?

hold on!! there are corals currently in this qt tank ,if yes tag reefsquad again see if dipping said corals will work ,then bleach out tank

It was a coral frag tank slash qt tank for inverts and I decided to add a six line wrasse to be my frag tank fish and this happened. I also have some neat hermit crabs in there. It was supposed to be my qt!! Now I’m so upset. I may have to kill everything now

Luckily my main display was fallowed and qt properly and everything is hunky dory

Well I don’t have to kill everything it just means this tank is what it is and the corals or inverts can never leave

WAIT! Uronema is a ubiquitous protozoan, you can isolate it from virtually any aquarium if you look hard enough. It normally feeds on bacteria, but sometimes, it becomes an internal fish parasite, nobody knows why. The best thing to do is just let it die back a bit in your frag tank (say 45 days or so) and then avoid fish that are prone to it: green chromis, anthias and some wrasses (yellow and sixlines for example).

No need to nuke your tank.....

Rip mr beenie the wrasse it looked like something was eating him and there were no inverts with him or any other fish.

sorry to hear ,was hoping for better, just follow dr jay's instructions all will be fine ,any questions never hesitate to ask, open 24/7 ;)

Thank you the only fish I’ve had die so far in qt has been a wrasse and a chromis. Go figure
