please help with salinity from new bucket of salt

Can anyone help with this? I got a new bucket of reef crystals and added my normal 2 1/2 cups per 5 gallons... although instead of 1.025 salinity is reading past 1.041.. Hanna checker won’t read how high it is.. mixed another bucket with only 1 1/2 cups and salinity is still wayyy too high at 1.032.. anyone know why this might be? Bad batch? I made sure to flip the bucket around a couple of times and roll it around to mix the salt up before I opened it.. any help? Don’t know why the salinity is reading so high with such little salt.. double checked with hydrometer, still too high for that to read as well. Thinking about returning the bucket of salt?

I’ve never had issues with this brand either... until now hydrometers are reading super high as well, Hanna checker reads 1.025 in my reef tanks so don’t Think it needs to be recalerbrate?

add water till it's 1.025

Add water to get the salinity correct. I would then test alk and ca to make sure those are within normal limits.

I wouldn't trust that reading, take a sample to a local fish store.
