Hey everybody so I just got a starry Blenny shipped in from vivid aquariums and he doesn’t seem to be doing so hot. He is just laying in my pvc pipe in my QT breathing very hard. There is two other clowns in their with him and they don’t seem to be bullying him. He really isn’t moving just sitting there in the pipe.
My parameters are:

pH: 8.3
Nitrate: 20
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
Salinity: 1.025
On the DOA return policy it said to have your tank between 1.023-1.025 salinity so I left it there.
I temp acclimated then added a cup of water every 7 minutes then replaced water till it was 100% tank water. I have a few pictures but they’re not too good. Is there possibly something wrong or is he still adjusting?

They are pretty timid, it might just be freaked out still. Give it some time. What do you plan on feeding him?

Fish are typically stressed and I don’t know about the starry but we have 2 blennies that look like they’re breathing heavy

Nice, sounds like you got it covered. I was going to recommend Hikari Seaweed Extreme if you have trouble getting him to eat.

Ok maybe I overreacted a bit haha I just didn’t want to lose him so just to make sure Blennys are usually a bit shy at first? And also when should I expect him to take food?

Starry Blenny's are pretty tough customers.
Did you treat the shipped fish with Methylene Blue to offset any ammonia burn on the gills?

As long as ammonia, oxygen, and flow are good it’s just time for him to settle in. They do like rock work and hiding spots, are you treating qt tank?

Shy all the time. At least mine is.

Knocking on a very large pile of wood, we have used safety stop on all new comers (that can tolerate the green part of it) have done very well. Way to go qt fish as we have only dipped in safety stop and placed in display

My starry blenny took a couple of weeks to start eating flakes and frozen. Now that he eats, he's come out from behind the rocks and is a part of every feeding.

I have a lawnmower blenny that took months to eat anything other then algae in the tank. Now he eats nori, and everything I put in the tank.

Nori would be a good food for the blenny.

If you have a piece of rubble or rock you can sacrifice to any meds that has algae on then add that it's instinct is to graze. leave some of your glass to get dirty, they love film algae.

Yeah I’m not running any meds I’m just doing observation unless I see something. Yes I can sacrifice a piece of rock with algae on it haha.

They are ocd like cleaners, give them something to do, any I have had take to almost any food.

Soooo Blenny didn’t make it I found it dead at the bottom of the tank. I sent a claim to the place I bought it, it appears the fish was sent sick.
