I feel like I'm not long to go before I tare my tank apart and give up. This brown string like substance is smothering corals, all my sand bed and looks horrendous! I have tried cyano treatment to no avail, so am currently trying dr tims waste away and refresh.

I've cleaned out my sump from detritus and done 2 25l water changes 50l on a 200l cube. Please how do I get rid of this?

The rocks appear to have what can only be described as spider webs all over them. See pictures.

I had something similar on my 65gal and did 2 treatments of chemiclean and it wiped it out. I varied off chemicleans recs to shut skimmer off, I let skimmer run with overflow cup off and let it overflow back into sump. Each treatment took about a week for skimmer to settle back to normal, but that's how I rid my tank of that stuff.

I will do. Weds tea time to see the results. I'm worried about my corals though, will they be OK or stressed?
I've done 4 day complete blackouts, zoas, lps, sps where all fine. Think of it as a 4 day tropical storm over the reef, they can handle it.

Thanks! Times gonna move very slowww. I'm using the Dr tims refresh and waste away recipe for dino as I believe that's what it is

Photos with white light would help. Looks like cyanobacteria on the sand.

I went through the same thing you are going through about 5 months ago mine looked just like yours maybe worse. just ride it out I tried everything blacked out tank as well I used chemiclean twice and kept my levels good and things bounced back and tank is beautiful now just give it time!

Let us know when you un cover it please? :)
Uncovered today. Sand pristine white, just what looks like strings of dead hair algae in places even though it wasn't there. Will hopefully stay this way now!

There's still a small amount near the surface, but this is much more under control than before
