Ok...I'm beyond frustrated. I just got a shipment of coral in (Z and P) and well they aren't opening. I last checked my parameters prior to the addition and well It's been 2 days and they still have yet to have opened. I have a clown fish, snails, cleaner shrimp, and a hermit in my 5 g eco pico. Here is the thing.....I checked the water last night and the nitrates and ites were SKY HIGH!! But no phosphates, ammonia, and my ph is at 8.0. This just does NOT make sense to me. Will these zoas survive this? I did a gallon water change last night and noticed a slight drop in the nitrites and ates but still.....what may be causing this?! I do water changes bi weekly and I keep my salinity stable as well as temperature. I'm not known to have problems but this is flat out mind blowing. ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

You should not be seeing a slight drop in nitrites. If your tank is properly cycled you should not be seeing any nitrites. How old is your tank? Have you made any major changes to the system lately? What are your readings for all parameters: ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, Ca, Alk, Mg, pH?
