Ive never had an itch outbreak before and the gramma ive had for over a year is now scratching. Havnt added any fish in over a month so I dont know where it came from. Any suggestions on what I should do. Thanks!

More than likely the ich was already present, and the fish was stressed by something or has not been eating properly. This is when ich will rear its ugly head. If you can catch the fish, a hospital tank set up would be ideal. You can treat him with a copper-based med, or do hyposalinity. In case you do not know, avoid using copper in your main tank.

just lost a gramma and a jawfish to ich... if it IS ich... get all of the fish into quarantine as soon as you can... look for the little white spots which are almost always present. treat with either copper or hyposalinity... after much reading hyposalinity seems to be the way to go... takes about 2 months... but it's least stressful on the fish.

Yeah I know its itch.... :( hes got the little spots on his fins unfortunately. I will try to catch him but seeing as it that I have a lot of liverock and coral, I dont know how well its going to workout
