Please help

Well I think I found the culprit. Tested my water tonight 1 ammonia, over 5 nitrites, and about 20 nitrate. But I don't get it, I used cured rock, live sand, water the housed the cured rock and added bio spira. Y did I just have a spike
How old is the tank?
RODI water?
And o wonder how long it was cured.

I don't get it though. I did a fishless cycle on the rock. Dosed ammonia, added bio spira, let it sit for a month. I would add ammonia, test the next day and it would read 0 as well as nitrites. I used the water and rock, had to do about 20 gallons new water. Yesterday everything read 0 tonight ammonia 1, nitrites 5

Yea it's only a mint though. And every tank is different. Every rock is different. You could have has a die off in the rock or something weird. Sorry man. It's a tough spot.
Yea it could be a brown jelly to but.

Well the ammonia was at a one and nitrites were up so that tells me the ammonia is coming down. Water change then prime. Hopefully it'll work it's way out by tomorrow but getting prime tomorrow as a precaution

Yup. Good luck.

Try staying out for a bit.
Maybe it was just grumpy tank syndrome.

OK, did a water change last night, added the prime to keep things
Safe. Bought more prime today and live nitrifying bacteria. Added the whole thing today. Ammonia came down to a .25 and nitrites are still up before I added the prime and bacteria today. Looks like its on a downward spiral.

OK guys I did another water change last night. Added prime, and Kent marine c to help with the coral to heal. Ammonia is down nitrites eye still high. What else can I possibly do to help not only the coral but the fish as well

You just have to keep doing daily water changes. Your tank won't be fully cycled until ammonia/nitrites both consistently remain 0 and you are getting a nitrate reading.

Sadly time is going to be key. But, the other product Seachem recommends to use with prime is Stability. Might want to look into it.
do you have a sump? or any local friends with tanks. as a tank doesnt really cycle the rock and sand do, if you have a friend with a trusted established system a piece of live rock will help to seed yours and will do the work yours isnt right now. Yes you can add it directly to the tank but some folks get kinda weird about that. Depending on your LFS they may have some that will work, but those can be mid cycle/cure as well and only add to the problem.
Of the 5 or 6 lfs I have close, I only would get my rock from one.

Everyone's tank is having some sort of problem right now. One has red bugs, one has bubble algae, one has either low or high salinity die to getting ready for a predator tank. And the closest fish store is an hour away

OK ammonia is 0 but nitrites still high. Did another water change. Added prime. My krypto candy doesn't look good. Looks a little bleached. Moved him under a ledge.
