I made the mistake of not having a quarantine tank before adding fish into my tank.
I bought a Purple Tang that was in my DT for 2 days before it showed signs of ICH.
I bought a a tank that will be set up as quarantine in the future, but now it is running as a hospital tank.
I am using "Mardel Quick Cure" for the ICH medicine (recommended by my LFS).
Looked at hospital tank today and my Tang has a swollen eye on one side, both sides seem to have a white iris.
Have seen posts about "Pop Eye", could this be what it has?
Is it possible to address both issues at once?
Have a Purple Tang, 2 Bangi, and a diamond goby in the hospital
Not sure how to address this or what I should use, it's only the tang showing swollen eye.
He got very, very stressed when moving from DT to hospital tank.
All other fish seem to be fine.
Please provide any input you may have.
The Tang is a fish I have waited for, for a long time.
I now know a quarantine tank is the only way to go but it's too late for what I am facing.
All input appreciated.
Looking for any/all input.

Rick

Yep could be Popeye. One eye is usually injury so if he was thrashing around during the move it would likely be that. Can try some Epsom salt in the hospital tank, will be fine for the uninjured fish as well. Epsom is just magnesium chloride so I'd imagine it's be fine with the quick cure, but I'd suggest changing over to a copper based treatment. The quick cure is malachite green and formalin, not really the ideal treatment for ich.

If you can get pics that would be great.
Here's info I copied from humblefish about using Epsom salt for Popeye.

Epsom Salt: Treats eye and other injuries. Popeye in one eye usually means injury, but popeye in both eyes usually denotes a bacterial infection requiring antibiotic treatment. Cloudy eye can be a bacterial infection or flukes.

How To Treat - 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of aquarium water. Repeat only once, if necessary. Use only “USP” grade Epsom salt.

Pros - Reef safe, as Epsom salt is just magnesium sulfate.

Cons/Side Effects - The effects of excessive sulfate in a reef aquarium are not fully known.

Eyes getting worse. Now looks like a white film growing over both eyes.
While these are not the best pics I hope they can help with diagnosis. 20170505_123015.jpg 20170505_123029.jpg 20170505_123059.jpg 20170505_123103.jpg

Just looked at my last post, pic's are worse on post then looking at them on the phone. Will try to get better shots.

My LFS guy sold me Focus, MetroPlex and AquatiCure (Ampicillin).
Think this will work for both issues?
Any input appreciated.
If nothing else I will order recommended medicine online.

Ampicillin is a penicillin based antibiotic, so dosing that would be your best bet. Hold onto the Focus & Metroplex for future use.

Great advice I agree on all fronts. Good luck!

Feed the fish highly nutritious foods like live blackworms, spirilina brine, and lots of nori as long as it can see enough to eat!

Tang looks fine now and is eating. Thanks for the advice.
One more question. Have a Christmas wrasse in the hospital tank and put a small container of sand in so he has somewhere to sleep. Is this a mistake? Still dosing for ich
Input appreciated.

Agreed! I'm sure the wrasse is loving the sand. Just know that a lot of wrasse don't do well with copper so try some other form of treatment if possible like Polyplab Med-Ick.
