I have 2 occelaris clowns that I’ve had in my tank for 7 months now. I got an anemone and I was wondering how long it would take for them to host it or if they will at all?

I was also thinking of getting a small third clown to add. Would it be compatible with the other ones?

You just have to wait for them to start hosting.
The third clown will not work as it will be killed by the pair.
Dang. Thanks for the help though! Any tips on like encouraging the clowns to go near the nem?

The anemone is the host
Allow them time to get acquainted as trying to force them could cause the clowns to get stung

People place pictures and videos on the side of the tank to encourage them buf otherwise you really can’t do anything. Other methods do more harm than good

Took mine two months now you can't get them out except at feeding time and they grab the food and back to the nem. I've got another clown in a different tank cause the other two picked on it and it likes greenstar polyps.

Mine weren’t hosting my BTA either. I started feeding them 4x a day- almost immediately they showed characteristics that made me realize they where now officially paired up (had them for 4 months). They originally started hosting a zoanthid colony, but quickly moved to the BTA :) if you do this, just keep an eye on water quality! Also, I’ve heard of people playing videos of hosting anemones, and in some cases your fish will notice and try. You can find some on YouTube!
