@mike550 PH 8.05 - 8.15
Salinity 1.025
ALK: 10 - 11 dKH
Cal: 400-410
MG: 1395
I have these guy about 2 weeks. I have 6 of those different color. The one facing directly the light seem to be more bleach or discolor.
thank you for reply
The test is Trident NeptuneI find it hard to believe your Alk is that high and your Calcium is only 400. What are you using to test these parameters? What is your Nitrates and Phosphates?
Also, what is your flow and lighting?
Yes, I thought so when I saw the Dinos on your second Pic. You need about 10 to 15 Nitrate and 0.05 to 0.10 Phosphates. The test is Trident Neptune
Nitrate and phosphate 0ppm (API test kit)
Flow: 2200 GPH (MP40 - Vortech)
Light: picture attached- just reduced 20% yesterday ( AI HD32 - 2 lights)
Thanks for your advice. I’m new to this. How can I raise nitrate and phosphate?Yes, I thought so when I saw the Dinos on your second Pic. You need about 10 to 15 Nitrate and 0.05 to 0.10 Phosphates.
You're starving them. Light doesn't have anything to do with what you're experiencing now.
I edited that post too to add some. Thanks for your advice. I’m new to this. How can I raise nitrate and phosphate?
The salinity is off. I measured it by the refractometer and it is 1.025. I turned off the dosing cause I changed the water yesterday. The local reef guy sold me ESV B-Ionic and he said doesn’t matter if AKL high I should dose it to raise up my PH. Once it’s steady I can reduce the dosageYes, I thought so when I saw the Dinos on your second Pic. You need about 10 to 15 Nitrate and 0.05 to 0.10 Phosphates.

Also, I hope your Salinity probe is off on the Apex. If not, you're running 1.030 or above Salinity. That's not good.
Your levels are all over the place and you need to get those under control. Do I see you're dosing 40ml Alk daily? Your Alk is already high, I wouldn't be dosing.
He's a moron. It absolutely matters if Alk is high and it really matters if you have a lot of Alk swings. SPS need stability so if you want to run your Alk at 10, then it needs to stay 9.5 to 10 at all times. It will increase in the day when the lights are on and decrease at night when the lights are out.The salinity is off. I measured it by the refractometer and it is 1.025. Thanks a lot. Does it anyway I can raise up my PH? Another guy from different store said I shouldn’t use the PH buffer. He's a moron. No need to dose right now, your water chabges will probably keep your levels up until your corals start growing.
I watched BRS and listened to them use the CO2 Scrubber. My PH still not increase muchThanks a lot. Does it anyway I can raise up my PH? Another guy from different store said I shouldn’t use the PH buffer.
My apartment only 2 people live here and I did try to open the window but seems like nothing much change. I keep trying to figure it out but hopelessIf the tank is in your living room with people, likely low ph is due to high co2 level. Open a window for a few hours to test theory.
The only thing I see the PH go all the way up is using evs b-ionic dosingMy apartment only 2 people live here and I did try to open the window but seems like nothing much change. I keep trying to figure it out but hopeless
Yeah never listen to that guy again. Also you need a better phosphate test. Feeding more is an easier alternative for you as a beginner rather than dosing nitrate and phosphate and dosing amino acids is better if your phosphate is ok but nitrates are notThe salinity is off.
