I got this anemone about 3 months ago it was completely white with light green tips. The pet store told me it was a bubble tip anemone. I did see him bubbled up for the first week he was in my tank. But does not do it anymore. He is now almost completely brown. I have pics at the bottom.

It does look like it very well might be a BTA. Is your light sufficient to keep an anemone, are providing any supplemental feedings? The anemone looks as though it has lost all it's zooxanthellae.

I feed him misis shrimp and brine shrimp. Lighting is pc light bulbs that I change out every six months. I was told they suppose to be brown in nature? As supplements I add seachem fuel every week.

I think you need to upgrade your lighting. PC's will keep most softies alive but it seems like your lights are slowly starving this bubbletip.

Wow didn't know that. I am currently looking for a full spectrum led fixture 165w. I haven't bought it yet because that would mean I would have have an open top. Don't want to risk a fish jumping out. Or my son sticking his hands in their.

What size tank do you have?
How many, what watts, and what color temp are the PCs? (( about 10 years ago I had 6*65 PCs over a 75 with E. quadricolors )).

Look into the BRS screen top kits for your tank --- lets the light in, but keeps the fish in, and could keep your son's hands out.

And yours is an E. quadricolor (( BTA ))

Google images of E. quadricolor in the wild and you'll see they are not brown naturally. Points off to the person that told you that the anemone is supposed to be brown and sold it to you already bleaching.

I have kept BTA under PC lighting with great success, so your fixture, bulbs or reflector is not sufficient for anemones.

Try to feed tiny/small pieces of raw fish, clams, scallops. Do not let food rot in the tank remove all uneaten pieces.

I have a 29g biocube with the white 10k and actinic blue. I'll look it the brs kit.

I will buy my leds this weekend. I have mushroom corals but that's about it due to my lighting can't wait to upgrade. I've seen sum nice full spectrum led reef light for around 100+

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but you'll not find a decent LED fixture for $100.00, you get what you pay for when it comes to lighting. Look to craiglist for local hobbyist selling fixtures, do not go to Petco or Petsmart and buy an LED fixture.

What's the difference between a 100+ full spectrum led fixtures 165w and a full spectrum led fixture 165w that cost 300+. Sorry for my ignorance been doing a lot of research on them. But don't understand.
