Please id this clown fish

Dick, could you give us some more info on your fish please, because of all the a. thiellei I've seen, none have the dark markings as your's has in picture 2.

Btw ocean is that your fish?

Funny stuff. The fish pictured belongs to my friend in Baltimore:

From our local club boards:

A. thiellei is a hybrid too but it is not known what it is a hybrid of. I believe that it is a hybrid of A. sandaracinos and either A. percula or A. ocellaris. I decided that the smartest thing to do would be to pair it with A. sandaracinos. That way if any morphs come out looking like a perc or an ocellaris, I can narrow it down to those two for sure.

Here is the conversation I had with my buddy (his board name removed) as soon as he posted pics!

Well, if you find three, I'll pay you $50.00 over cost to pick one up for me.

Is that a challenge? Looks like I'm going fish hunting.... :fishing:

Each. Good luck finding one A. thiellei much less a pair. They are so rare they make A. latezonatus look like ocellaris.
:p

Each? ....or $150 for a pair :D ?

Those clowns are sick...

Leishman, could you pass on the info of the store to me please, very interested in where he's acquiring the rare clownfish. If he would like the store to remain secret its fine also, I understand the hobbyist secrets.

haha, well I have problems with having a store special order a clownfish for me then end up getting a plain ocellaris.

There's nothing to add. I've told you all I know in the above post. I'm not sure what you are driving at. What dark markings? Here's a few more pictures. Point out what you mean.

In this picture, the body seems to be darker than most thiellei's I have seen, it's probably a genetic trait, but it is very interesting.
