No idea what this is. Tanks been up for about a month and a half. And I bought a peice of live rock that has these purple swirley spots that end in a tube. I was wondering if they are vermatid snails as I have been starting to see some silky strands across the polyps that also came on the rock. LFS couldn't guve me an ID.

A small piece of coral putty with a dab of glue over it, or just crush the shell.

If you only have a few this is a good trick. I had 50 or more and they were under my rockscape where I couldn't reach them.
Lol. Yup. You'd have to have very flexible arms.

OP you need to find a new LFS! it begs believe that a store selling livestock couldnt ID such an obvious hitchhiker that pretty much everyone whos ever owned a reef tank would of come across at some point?

Thanks everyone ill try out the putty and glue tomorrow with my water change. I have a total of 3 and don't want to end up with an out break of them. This is my first tank and it is one heck of a hobby. I bought the Biocube 32 and already want to get a much bigger tank ;Facepalm Going to need some deeper pockets. I do have to say the amount of knowledge on the forum is amazing.

No longer going back to that LFS. Found one a little bit further but worth the drive.
