Hello all,

I have what seems to be chaeto growing off my rocks? I have a small refugium inside my sump in the back of my fluval evo 13.5; I’ve had some chaeto trickle into the display when I have the pump off (for feeding). I try cleaning it up as much as possible but I’m wondering if this will go away on its own? Or is it actually chaeto? Or will it overrun my tank?

Just green algae on your rocks.

I am not talking about the green covering my rocks. That’s been there for a while I’m just waiting for it to begin to change color (hopefully). There are small strands off of it that looks like chaeto.

Sorry about that! I can’t really make out the strands.

You have some nice pieces in there. I would pull the GSP and put it on its own private rock. It is very invasive and will cover your entire rock structure and over run your other corals.

Thanks and great idea, already growing so fast! Can anyone please Id these strands? What specific invert will eat this? It looks very much like chaeto, too think for green hair. I have had green hair it’s definitely not green hair.

Hi, on the top of your rock maybe Spionid worm? google it, harmless but I very hate them, in my case they annoy my zoas.
I agree for your GSP, glue it on a private rock.
