This anemone was sold to me as a long tentacle anemone but it does not behave nor does it look like a long tentacle anemone, at least to me. Is this a Seabae?

Looks like a long tentacle to me.
Sebae has purple tips
Aren’t long tentacle anemone supposed to have curly tentacles? Also it definitely does not have a long tentacles, it has short stubby tentacles. The pictures don’t show it well but it’s kind of a pinkish tan and the tips of the tentacles are beige/white.

Curly tentacles are definitely not a long tentacle anemone.
Pink/purple tips on a sebae are like dots on the end of the tentacle.

Well it definitely doesn’t have dots on the ends of the tentacles. I am shocked to hear you say that curly tentacles are not long tentacle anemone as you were the only person who has ever told me that in 20 years. All of the pictures I see of long tentacle anemones they have curly sort of tentacles and they also have a long tentacles hence (I’m assuming) the name long tentacle anemone. If you don’t mind could you clarify for me what type(s) of anemone does have curly tentacles?

This is a long tentacle. Different color, but long tentacle nonetheless.
Anemones are weird. Some days the tentacles are longer or shorter. Sometimes fatter or skinnier.
Curly, not really. Arrow straight, not that either.

Wow that one is really beautiful! Thank you for clarifying for me. Any tips on how to get it to stop wandering all over the tank stinging everything? Aside from getting rid of it? LOL

Macrodactyla doreensis a.k.a Long Tentacle Anemone, Corkscrew Anemone, Sand Anemone, Red Base Anemone

I’ve had success with getting them to attach to a small rock and use that to move it around where u want it to live

Looks like an LTA to me. Sand dwellar, not rock. Need sand bed at least a couple inches deep but ideally 3"+. Easiest attachment method is open ended pvc segment dug into sand against bottom glass. Clear as much sand from middle as possible and put LTA inside until it attaches, then slowly remove the pvc and let the sand fill in around its foot. GL!

That was the instructions I had gotten and I have done it several times. LOL

I got PVC yesterday so I’m trying that now. I have tried the method of digging a hole in the sand for him. I have tried the method of digging the hole in the sand near the base of a rock. I have tried digging a hole for him and surrounding it with rubble. I’ve come to the conclusion this anemone is just a jerk.LOL

That works with my bubble tip but this one won’t stick on a rock.
