Thanks Sharkbait, could be. I'm fighting dino's, so nitrate and phosphate are high (16 ppm / 0.12). Could that be a reason why it's closed?

Maybe. Leather corals generally don’t care about parameters too much, but if it’s really off it may close up.
They also just like to pout if disturbed. One of my leathers closed up for weeks because it was only happy in one spot.
