What mine started as on the floor and what it is in the tank now

100lbs Pukani with probably 50lb Caribsea rock. Now it’s covered in algae... so if you get Pukani cure it for a LONG time.

I'm in love with the dimensions of your tank, the ratio of length to height & the size.

Tank envy is going to be a HUGE issue for me......

...Ah
Bare Bottom over here.
I like to scape away from the back wall for flow and long term maintenance

Did this over the weekend. Using two little fishes Stax rocks. Used to have a two tiered frag rack system in here but decided I wanted more of a natural display look. Will probably add a few more structures soon

I'm more impressed now. My Reefsaver arrived looking a bit less intimidating then what you started with. I have 60 pounds of rock, but now want a couple pieces of shelf rock. What did you pay for yours & where?

Here is 150 lbs of dry Pukani. I was originally going to order 200 or so pounds but stopped at 150 and I'm glad I did. The rocks are more like boulders used for landscape (to borrow a phrase someone else told me :) ). I didn't want to cut them up since they had good shape already so instead tried to form coves that are visible from the front and a cave from the side. I still have some rock to move from my 40 breeder.

The first set is from my 120g with epoxy still drying (and acrylic sticks in place to hold it up until dry...)

The next set of pictures is from my current build (see my signature if interested)

I just read the forum discussion on barebottom! As a snorkeler who has spent days & days coral gazing in ocean waters I never even entertained the idea of a bare bottom. Then I read that thread. No sand is just so much more practical. My lifestyle values that aspect. Doing my hardscape this upcoming weekend so I have a couple days still to fret over it!

Also looks great! I looked over a few threads on water flow. I haven't thought much about it, and I'm going to do softies so I should be quite a bit.

I am in the process of pluming in a 93 to my system, here are some pictures of the scape - I wanted depth and a lot of growing area for SPS yet a open "court yard" I will be doing a small island in the front center.

The back arch is about 24" across and they come about 18" on each side.

Since the pictures I added some branches to the front "arms"

I bought pukani rock and the two shelf pieces from bulk reef supply. I got I think close to 80 lbs and it was roughly 180 ish bucks. Can’t remember the actual numbers as some is in the sump and chipped away some but if you need exact I can pull out receipts. Also if you buy from bulk reef supply every few weeks they do sale prices on the rock. It’s a 40 cent per pound difference but it still adds up

So cheesy to type I love your coves, but your depth is so great I have to.
