I have had this stand (60x65x90, lxwxh) made for me from a local reefer. The tank is going to be 60x65x35 (lxwxh) around 120 litres. Is this stand sufficient? I’m thinking about reinforcing the top.

Are those 3cmx6cm boards?
I would feel a lot more comfortable if the entire thing was made from 2cm plywood.

Your tank will weight about 150kg when filled.

I use a similar design to this to hold a 22kg terrarium thats about the same dimensions.

The frame is made from 44x44 mm and the ones in the front and back are 40x88 mm. The panels on the sides are 1 cm mdf plates.

Don’t quote me its been awhile since school, but i want to say 1cm mdf can comfortably support about 20-30kg. Personally would not be something id use for an aquarium stand. Its very water intolerant. To have it support the weight of the aquarium id add additional “ribs”. Which may take a lot of the space away from the interior. Maybe when @Crabs McJones wakes up he can have some ideas. Ive been up for 24 hours so my brain is telling me, “no, i don’t want to do math” lol

I’m more comfortable with additional ribs then not enough support lol. How would you place the additional ribs? You know when @Crabs McJones wakes up?

Is the tank rimmed or rimless?

I would seal it to preserve the MDF. The main structure will easily hold the weight. Should have used plywood instead of MDF.

I would add some diagonal bracing anyway. I have an engineer friend and adding X's or diagonals is his response to every question like this. That said, I think it will hold as it is.
