Please Stop Stating This Is An Expensive Hobby.

True, I did Spend a lot of money over the years before I started selling coral.

But that was not my intention at first - Like everyone else I just wanted to keep Saltwater Fish and then I moved on to Coral, then one day I decided to start selling.

I have not recouped tall the money I spent but I will one day it just takes time.

But currently I do not spend any money on this Hobby (It all comes from selling coral and trading it into the LFS).

And I keep aquiring New Coral hence investing in my future so I can make more money from this.

You cannot do this from day one.

But if you work at it, study a lot like I did, and have a great passion for it like I do there is no reason that one cannot start selling coral for profit.

It is not for everyone but it is definetly an option to keep this Hobby from being "Expensive" which was the point of this post.

I am just trying to show that this hobby does not have to be expensive and show just one way to reach that goal.

Great, still that isn't answer I was asking for.
I see you liking the hobby, making some money to recoup some of the investment is a plus in this hobby, I'm just wondering why....................??
Maybe because this hobby still cost some good money and selling frags to ease that will work.

It was said 162 posts ago that it's up to what the hobbiest WANTS to spend.
I think we can all agree on that. $5 for a 2 head candy cane frag or $150 for a single zoa polyp. It's up to you. No one will kill you if you choose the cheaper option, so the CHOICE is YOURS.
It was also said 155 posts ago that what classifies as "expensive" is purely subjective. I think something is expensive and you think it's cheap or vice versa. It doesn't mean either of us are right, it's just an opinion.
There is no right or wrong and we can all argue till the cows come home and get nowhere.
The fact is, it CAN be cheap and it CAN be expensive. Open your minds people, accept others opinions!

So lets just say this hobby is a BMW . So owning a BMW to some people is just a regular car and some its an expensive car. Then comes which BMW are you driving cause there are a lot of different models with different price tag. So in my opinion this hobby is expensive if you want to have a hot BMW

A better one would be that: "This hobby is like clothing. There is name brand and non-name brand. You can buy the name brand to keep with the fad or you can just keep with the non-brand. In the end, they both cover your body but one costs more than the other."

Not necessarily. You are thinking clearance items. I am talking about non-name brand items. Name-brand items can also be found in clearance when they are going out of style.

I meant more along the lines of I can buy a pack of V-neck shirts from walmart and they will achieve the same look and feel as the Ralph Lauren Polo V-Neck Shirt. I have both and i they are the same but one has a horse and costs more.
