Hi all,
At the moment my 32g tank (32x15x15 in) tank is divided in 2 "sections": the right side is quite empty aside of LR and some macro. The left side is where few frags I own are (duncan, zoas, paly, toadstool and 2 new seriatopora) and where the main rockwork is. Above that I keep a VIPARSPECTRA 165W at very low intensity (1%W,12%B).
Now, I am planning to start getting some more frags and I would like to pupulate also the right side of the tank, so after kind suggestion of another user I purchased a kessil A160 for this purpose. I was wondering whether I should use the kessil for the main rockwork and move the vipar on the empty (for now) side OR keep the vipar where it is and use the kessil on the other side. As far as I understood the kessil is much less powerful than the vipar but it has a much better spectrum, so I guess it would be better for colorful softies and lps right?
while the vipar should create less dark spots and with its crazy high PAR would be perfect for sps.
This means that I could use one side of the tank for SPS and the other for LPS corals.. what do you think? does it sound like a good idea?
Here you can see a picture of the scape from some months ago. Now I have some frags on the left side and I moved the macros to a fuge, and put some LR in their place.
I was thinking that the right side of the tank would be better for sps because the wavemaker is closer so the flow will be stronger. Also, I could cover the center with the vipar and the rockwork with the kessil, and leave the right side a bit darker for those species which require very little light.
